ESPN 2: Cherry Pit spitting competition on The OCHO – rebroadcast

Kevin “Boomerang” Bartz, 53 of Niles, felt the return of “Champion” status as he spat a red tart cherry pit 58’ 3-1/4” to capture his second championship victory at the International Cherry Pit Spitting Championship held here at Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm near Eau Claire, MI. Boomerang’s previous championship win was in 2015 with a spit of 48’ 8”. Second place was Kevin Hester, age 47 of St. Joseph, with a spit of 54’ 9-1/4”. Rick “Pellet Gun” Krause, 18-time champ, took third with a spit of 46’ 5-1/2”.
