INDEPENDENCE, MO (Jan. 1, 2015) – One month ago, the Milwaukee Wave (6-4) visited the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for the first time this season and left with a shootout victory over the Comets (10-2) to end their regular season 32-game winning streak. Tomorrow night, both teams meet again in the second of three matches this year. The game, which will kick off at 7:35 p.m. CT will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast and can be followed via Twitter at @CometsMASL.

Coach Vlatko Andonovski and the Comets have their sights set on tying the All-time series, which the Wave lead 12-11 and kicking of the new year on a good note. However, that won’t be an easy task, as Missouri will be playing its third match in five days as well as battling the injuries of defenders Brian Harris, Alain Matingou and forward Max Touloute.

Missouri is coming from a solid 11-4 road win against the Cedar Rapids Rampage at the U.S. Cellular Center yesterday, while the Wave enter the match two days after falling to the Chicago Mustangs at home in a heartbreaking 11-10 overtime defeat.

Team captain Vahid Assadpour enters the game as the Major Arena Soccer League scoring leader with 37 points followed by MVP Leo Gibson who stands third overall. In addition, goalkeeper Boris Pardo leads the league with 10 wins. On the other hand, the trio of Ian Bennett, Max Ferdinand and Marcio Leite lead the Wave.

Both teams will meet again for the third and final time this season on Valentine’s Day when the Comets visit UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. In its visit last year, Missouri pulled off a hard fought shootout victory.

Next up, your Comets host the Chicago Mustangs a week from tonight. The Comets will be wearing special edition retro jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game as well as celebrating Latino heritage and Suicide Prevention. For tickets, please call 855-4KC-GOAL or visit ticketmaster.com.
