The first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will feature the USLPDL National Champion Michigan Bucks against the NPSL Detroit City FC (DCFC) on Wednesday, May 13th at 7:30pm at the Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac.

A few tickets remain for this highly anticipated matchup to view in person and can be purchased at www.buckssoccer.com for $15 each.  Early arrival is recommended to secure your seat location.

Play by play commentary for the live streaming will be by Neal Ruhl and Gary Parsons.  Ruhl is a local broadcaster, the voice of the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies and who will now also be calling the plays for Detroit City FC in the 2015 season.  Gary Parsons is the Director of Coaching for the Michigan Bucks after spending 28years as head coach of the men’s soccer team at Oakland University.

This will be the second appearance in the U.S. Open Cup (USOC) for DCFC, who lost in the first round to RWB Adria, a team that is now a part of the newly created Great Lakes Premier League.

The Bucks will be in their 12th year of USOC appearances and despite setting many PDL and amateur records within the tournament, including beating the MLS Chicago Fire in 2012, they have been knocked out recently in the first round in 2013 to the Dearborn Stars and in 2014 also to RWB Adria.  This year, NPSL’s Lansing United, the Great Lakes West Conference Champions, will have to face RWB Adria in their first ever USOC showing at East Lansing Complex on Wednesday night as well.

One guarantee this year in the USOC, one of these two teams will make it past the first round to host Portland Timbers 2 (T2), the USL affiliate of the MLS Timbers, on May 19th at 7:30pm.
